HashCalc is built as a tool to calculate cryptographic hashes. This policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Data Privacy & Local Processing

Your files and text never leave your device. All hash calculations (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, etc.) are performed locally. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, file contents, or calculated hashes to any external servers.

2. Permissions

• Media Location: To provide accurate hash results for photos and videos on modern Android devices, we request access to original file metadata. This prevents the system from modifying the file (redacting location) before we hash it, ensuring binary integrity.
• File Access: We use the system file picker to read only the specific files you select for hashing.

3. History

The app saves a history of your calculations locally on your device for your convenience. This data is not shared and can be cleared by you at any time.
